Hey all,
The "Wobbly Wheels" union pedicab collective is seeking materials to build
pedicabs. Anyone have access or connections to resources for mig welding
(especially steel)?

Hey all, what's the status of this? What parts do we still need? I'd
love to help pay for them if someone knows what parts to buy. And
anything else I need to do to get our printer working ASAP. Thanks!
I just found out today, Waste Management are trying to bill Sudo Room (and
therefore BAPS) for 2 extra recycling bins and one extra green-waste bin
that we don't have.
That is, WM thinks we have always had 3x 96gal recycling bins and 2x 64gal
green-waste bins in all. Whereas Sudo/BAPS have only ever had 1x 96gal
recycling, and 1x 64gal green waste bin (* technically our green bin is
also 96gal, but since WM apparently didn't actually have any 64gal-sized
bins, they just give us the 96gal and …
[View More]charge us for 64gal.)
So far as I can tell, what happened is: WM assigned an additional, second
recycling+green waste account to Sudo, that is not ours. This additional
secondary bill is past due ~4 mo to the tune of ~$500.
This bogus bill was not visible to us online, and I only found out about it
today after getting hit up by WM's collection department on the phone,
whereupon I asked them to email me copies of the invoices.
After looking the bogus bill over, today at around 12noon, I called WM back
and wrangled with the billing dept phone rep "Christopher", who
generated a *Case
ID # 2377511* for the accounting department to "review" this screw-up.
Although it's not hard to see the error, as it is a second bill for twice
as many recycling bins at the same address for the same time period.
Therefore, before interfacing with WM, please take note of the following
information:
Sudo room's CORRECT recycling and green waste account # (paid in full
through Nov):
*699-0009853-2216-3* (<-- right)
This other INCORRECT recycling/green account, misattributed to Sudo:
065-4415376-2216-5 (<-- wrong)
SUDO/BAPS'ERS: DO NOT EVER PAY THIS ACCOUNT.
Attached are the two different recycling+greenwaste invoices for the month
of October - one labelled *correct* (and paid), and one labelled
*incorrect*(unpaid). If you talk to WM, please refer to these. I know
these aren't the
latest bills, but it's simpler to discuss them with WM without referring
past due amounts.
For the record, Sudo has a separately-billed WM account just for the
*garbage*, which is: 065-4415386-2216-4. The garbage account has thus far
not been confused, just the recycling/green.
Best,
David

Thanks so much for disambiguating! With this additional knowledge, I'm
happy to be removed from the agenda again.

Since I'll be at the meeting, that will be a convenient time to have me
arrested, if anyone wishes.

p.s. the police came, but we thought it had been cancelled. They were
called because Matt said that you were bothering people, not because George
said that you can't be in …
[View More]there. Matt called us, we didn't call him.
Neither George nor I was privy to what led up to his call. Sonitrol called
the police and gave them Matt's #. The Police called Matt and Matt said
that you had left the room and that they didn't need to come, so we thought
it was done. An hour later we got a call from Matt; they showed up anyway
and George had to run down there. Not what we wanted on a Sunday eve.

On Friday night after we talked (sometime after 6:15PM, when he'd required
me to take his appointment), or perhaps between when I made my Monday
appointment with you yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and when I got back from
my volunteer/internship gig at about 6pm, George seems to have decided my
alleged "second chance" (as in "everyone deserves a second chance") was
retroactively canceled, and told people I was "not allowed" in the building.
After Sudo (Matt) asked me yesterday -- because of some direct communication
from George I do not know about (between 1:45PM and 6ish
PM) not to be in the Sudo room part of the common area yesterday night, and
out of respect for not wanting to put sudo room (the group: my friends and
colleagues, acquaintances and primary social millieu and
support) in a difficult place, I retrieved a few possessions and donations
and then left both sudo room's room and their common area section, and have
not returned, as I told everyone I would not.
Tonight, as I was peacefully eating my dinner and listening to a good
physics and game-theory lecture/conversation from OUTSIDE of the Sudo area
today, Matt handed me a phone, and said it was George. (I told George I was
recording it, mid-call, and he did not voice objection).
Per George, Matt had asked that I be required to leave. After George hung up
on me, saying he'd called the cops and would not "repeat himself " as I
asked for clarification, I found out the request didn't come from George.
I will not be in the common area, unless invited by The Public School, until
we talk. I doubt I would even if so invited, out of respect for anyone else
who should be spared this drama.
Feel free to cancel the call to the cops or not, as you see fit.

Hey all,
This email came in, we weren't sure what to do, discussed at the meeting
that we'd forward to the discuss list to see if anyone wanted to follow up
about this. From the minutes:
"**we'll forward to sudo-discuss, any interested individual sudoer is free
to invite them as a guest on the calendar, but we will be very clear that
our org is not endorsing theirs"

Hey Sudoroom!
My name is Kendra Desler, and I am an Organizing Fellow with FWD.us. We are
a nonprofit advocacy organization working with the tech community to move
the knowledge economy forward through immigration reform.
I was wondering if Sudoroom would be interested in having FWD.us host a
mixer event at your office space in hopes of meeting your members and
sharing about how immigration reform affects the tech community. We often
host happy hour type events during the late afternoon; however, we are
flexible, and can host something more common to the your office culture
(brunch, sandwich lunch, etc). We will provide all food, beverages and
other amenities. Would you be open to exploring the possibility of having
us host such an event? I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Kendra

Hey all,
I received word from George our landlord that Timon is banned from the property. His presence in sudo room jeopardizes our lease, and therefore he is not welcome. This has been communicated to Timon, and some other sudoers who were around this weekend are aware as well.
