Hey Everyone,
Does everyone want to do a fund-raiser/linux install athon with
RoShamboMedia, so that we can have laptops for checking-in-checking out for
sudoroom classes?(see specs inline)
These are actually nice laptops, but they aren't worth a whole lot(maybe
200 complete tops), so theft wouldn't be a big issue.
This would be a great deal for teaching classes and etc. for everyone at
sudo.
Let me know and thanks,
Rusty

For whatever purpose we need laptops, I asked around today, and I can get a
single lot of thinkpads for about 50 bucks each if we buy a lot of 10, they
are dual core 12" screens(no hard drives)...
we can get these too:

Maybe it's time for a roshambo sudo fundraiser to get laptops?

Hey all, I donated a magstripe reader/writer to the space on Thursday,
the MSRW206. I came in today to label it, and it's gone. Has anyone
seen it? Please let me know so we can use it for the door or other
innocuous purposes ;)
Greetings,
Tomorrow will be this month's installment of Nerd Nite East Bay. The
Nerd Nite franchise puts on good shows and is generally a safe bet for
supernerdiness combined with alcohol, or either one of those by
themselves depending on personal preference.
The SF Nerd Nite almost always sells out, but the East Bay version is
only just getting started. I went to last month's episode, and it was
Good.
However, I think THIS month is going to be Great. They'll have
Jessica Richman from uBiome, one of the guys on the Curiosity (Mars
rover) team, and something about fabrication (not my bag but I'm sure
it'll be fun anyway):
http://www.bayareascience.org/calendar/index.php?com=detail&eID=9578
And it occurs to me that much of this will come as no news to some of
you. (In remotely related news, this message constitutes my first
email to the sudo-discuss list.)
Anyway, there's a small chance I will not make it due to utter
exhaustion from overcommitting myself (as usual), but if I know some
of y'all will be there, I'll plan my stimulant intake accordingly.
Cheers,
Naomi
Two new mailing lists have been set up this month:
*sudo-radio*: for organizing sudo radio scheduling, equipment, etc;
*sudo-crowd*: for discussions around crowdfunding sudo room projects and
hacking the economy generally.
sign up here if interested in being a part of those conversations:

I can kick in $5.

Hi all and Jake if you get this,
Does anyone know the bit of code for protecting your arduino from current spikes? I could use that now. I'm trying to run a bunch of heavy duty servos with a bit of a load. They have a separate power supply, but I'm not using any motor controller. Does this seem like a bad idea? Could that little code provide enough protection from current spikes?
Thanks for your advice,
Tracy
Thanks for your advice.
Hey all,
At the last meeting I proposed we return to a practice of developing
specific action items with corresponding members for each item. You can see
them here: http://sudoroom.org/wiki/Meeting_Notes_2013-02-20
I'd like to do this again, but for much bigger items:
1. Door Access Automation version 0.2
2. Fiscal Solvency Improvements
3. Membership process
4. sudoroom.org version 2.0
Add notes and read more here: https://pad.riseup.net/p/sudoroom
I'm happy to help facilitate and keep track of progress on more things, but
inversely, I need more help from other members to implement solutions
(which are hopefully simple, elegant systems).
