It seems that DNS inside the sudo network is not working. However manually
setting your DNS to something like 8.8.8.8 fixes this issue.
I'm not sure where this problem is stemming from, hopefully somebody else
can troublshoot better than I.

I believe this was fixed when I turned on the DNS server (the laptop on
the bookshelf) which had been turned off.
Are you still having trouble with the local DNS?

I've had a lot of success in the past with extruded steel mesh food
service shelving. I think I got mine at Sam's Club back in the day,
and ten years later it's still holding together (with room left over

1.- Based on the current equipment and envisioning the future of
Sudo-SudoMesh(-Omni) what size room do we need?
2.- How is the potential room airflow?
3.- How is temperature of the room, now and during the Summer?
4.- Are there electrical outlets nearby?
5.- Do we have enough Amps in that area?
6.- If not, do we need to install a circuit breaker box with scalability?
7.- Room's accessibility?
8.- Security: Who and when people have access to it when no Sudoers
are present?
9.- What type of racks, 2 or 4 of both size rack? or no this of rack?
Someone mentioned a wall mount rack in the open?
10.- If 2 or 4 post rack, should we get CAT6A ready? This means that
at least the backbone wiring, Patch panel, and connectors need to CAT6A.
Just these questions for now... but I encourage others to please

New subject: The New Server Room
For something the size of the Omni, with half a dozen doors or more that
different sets of people may need to have access to, I think it makes sense
to invest in a commercial lock system. Key pad locks, preferably remotely
programmable, and with a reasonably sophisticated access control system so
different groups can independently give access to different sets of doors.
Reed Brothers on Shattuck & 45th is a good resource for stuff like this,
and they're walking distance from the Omni. I'd guess something like
the Schlage
AD-200 or 400

series of locks, but they should be able to advise on what will fit our
situation best.

My experience with commercial systems for access management is that they
are inflexible and difficult to integrate with other software (which is
essential for us). We should definitely invest in good electronic locks and
outdoor-capable keypads / magnetic card / rfid, but we absolutely must be
able to write our own software that gets asked "is this a valid code/card"
and answers back. Anything else will hamper our ability to automate.
Basically what I'm saying is: Any access control system that requires us to
use proprietary software to maintain or configure who gets access will not
work for us.
The system at 2141 has been notoriously unstable, but that is mostly
because no-one has felt compelled to spend the money/hours to fix it (due
in large part to people thinking we were leaving and not feeling ownership
or many positive feelings at all towards the space). Since I haven't really
taken on anything omni-related for a long time, I can take the lead on
access control for the new space and ensure that we have a good system that
works for everyone.

I've not done the walk-through yet because of the somewhat restricted
access to the whole building, so no photos.
Here are other questions that I suggest we should look for their
answers also:
1.- Based on the current equipment and envisioning the future of
Sudo-SudoMesh(-Omni) what size room do we need?
2.- How is the potential room airflow?
3.- How is temperature of the room, now and during the Summer?
4.- Are there electrical outlets nearby?
5.- Do we have enough Amps in that area?
6.- If not, do we need to install a circuit breaker box with scalability?
7.- Room's accessibility?
8.- Security: Who and when people have access to it when no Sudoers
are present?
9.- What type of racks, 2 or 4 of both size rack? or no this of rack?
Someone mentioned a wall mount rack in the open?
10.- If 2 or 4 post rack, should we get CAT6A ready? This means that
at least the backbone wiring, Patch panel, and connectors need to CAT6A.
Just these questions for now... but I encourage others to please
add/correct/comment/suggest as needed.
