Film screening at Sudoroom Saturday night at 7pm

Hey everybody, Free movie showing of Who Bombed Judi Bari tomorrow night at 7pm. Daryl Cherney will be presenenting the film about him being bombed in a car in Oakland with Judi Bary, and the FBI investigation that came after that. This is a very important story for Oakland and environmental activists everywhere. Movie starts at 7pm. Hope to see you there. Rusty

They're configured in two different places, right? It seems like there are a bunch of different machines. I'll try to write up MY understanding. Bonded phone lines come out of the wall, into the Sonic.net router Sonic.net router is connected by ethernet to: Horchata, firewall, in the closet, IP 192.168.1.1, connected by ethernet to: D-Link Gigabit Switch, on shelf above closet, with many things plugged into its ethernet ports, including: Port 1: Horchata Port 4: Cisco AP Other ports: Tamale, radio room, random places The Cisco AP has IP 192.168.1.49 and appears to be running dd-wrt, but nobody knows the password. Which of these machines is "the router"? The thing that needs the Java app to access? Is it Horchata? Are the router and firewall the same machine? Sorry for being verbose, I just want to be very clear before changing anything. Thanks!

[Big Changes] Hack the Room Hackathon Sun. 5/26 - Details Inside

hi all, In late May 2013, we find ourselves with a number of hacks necessary to improve ACCESS to & functioning of the space. On Sunday 5/25/13, starting at 11:45AM and running all day long (until the wee hours of Memorial Day Monday with a potential midnight tofu bbq), we will be HACKING THE ROOM. we have hacks in a number of categories: hardware, software, and admin. in order to help people collaborate on the appropriate categories at the appropriate times, please reply to this thread or add your name to the list of attendees <https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Hack_The_Room> with the category that you'd like to work on and when you'll be available (if you'll only be available during certain parts of the day, sharing your availability will help coordinate everyone who wants to work on hardware for ex.) here's the current list of necessary hacks (please add to/modify this list at https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Hack_The_Room): Hardware Hacking: - Getting a raspi attached to the sudo <=> (common space) door. - Installing a circuit on both doors that will be able to send signals to their respective raspi's. - Move shit and reorganize space. First hack of the hackathon from sacramento

Hello good morning ! Started my first sudoroom hack in downtown sacramento the cartoon below that can be letter pressed or silkscreen printed and eventually given as an intro card to what we are about for donations Maybe we could even print this on the back of circuit boards for future electronics kits-- yes we can !!! My butt hurts from biking all over sacramento -- met a cool food activist bike shop edible pedals that does food delivery from farms by bike. We need to descend en masse on sacramento in the party bus and learn from all the rad people here! Sent from my iPad

By what means have queer users of dating sites and social networks reframed or otherwise hacked the systems surrounding them? What is the design history of the drop-down gender menu- and its alternatives? How did Facebook's inclusion of "in an open relationship" as a standard option for one's relationship status affect youth mores? What has been the effect of location-based hookup apps on the architecture of cruising? What are the economics of niche dating sites, and how are they policed? What technologies drove the invention of privacy? How did the adoption of fingerprinting change the regulation of prostitution in the early 20th century? Besides hanky-flagging, what techniques/technologies were used to signal 'deviant' interests? How was handwriting judged in the evaluation of potential lovers? What is the techno-social history of the "secret admirer?" How will technological progress change the way we see ourselves? What are we without our iPhone and our beloved designer vibrator? Is the Marxian commodity fetish actually entering the sphere of (what a wordplay!) customization fetishism? If orgasm patterns are unique and impossible to duplicate, could one's sexual response be the ultimate biometric identifier? So, how worried should we be about the spectre of sphincter-printing? What about Big Data in a sexual context? Does size matter? What about a decent ontological debate with your buttplug's AI?
