I have been asking for access to the new router for a couple weeks
now, and people told me it wasn't ready. Now I see it's apparently
already operating? Please give me access.

Hey folks. Sudo Room's weekly Wednesday hangout will happen tonight as
usual, from 8-9. We're going to be discussing the possibility of writing a
newsletter and plans for upcoming events.
See you there,
Andy
Is anyone else interested in mechanical keyboards, or just keyboard collecting/customization as a hobby? I got really into it during the pandemic, and I was thinking that organizing some kind of mechanical keyboards meetup could attract additional attention (and possible venue revenue?) for the Omni/Sudoroom. I'd also just love to geek out over builds, cool vintage finds, etc. What do you all think?

Hey Sudoers. Here are the highlights from our March meeting. This email and
notes from past meetings can always be found on the wiki
<https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Meetings#Archive>.
*Facilities:*
It’s gotten much cleaner, and we’re still going! Plus: Jake is going to
install a drain in the roof to resolve our leaks. I’m going to remove some
of the paint on the skylights and see how it affects the space, and we’ll
plan to install shades before the summer. Jonathan set up a display in the
main area, but is currently debugging a Chromecast in order to display
useful content. Volunteers for any of these projects are wanted!
*Finance: *
We’ve got a bunch of awesome grant opportunities and need more volunteers!
Even if you have no experience, message finances(a)sudoroom.org if you want
to help. This is our biggest need right now!
*Comms: *
You can now sync our calendar with Google Calendars and iCal! Try it now,
and you’ll always have the latest events in your personal calendar app!
We’re also looking for contributions to a possibly newsletter. Email me or
Romy if interested.
*Projects: *
We’ve got a bunch of active projects going on!
-
*The Hack-o-Mat:* message the general group if you want to modify or
upgrade it
-
*Laptops for all: *message Rajah if you want to donate, refurbish, or
obtain a laptop
-
*Hallway TV:* message Jonathan if you want to learn or help
-
*Assisting victims of stalking and domestic violence with online
privacy:* Message me if you want to help an org that reached out looking
for assistance
*Events: *
In addition to the usual, we’ve got some tentative new programming for
March:
1.
*Sci-fi RPG night*: I'd like to host a game night at our Wednesday party *on
the 15th or 22nd*! If you’d like to join to hangout or play a game,
message me your interest!
2.
*Movie night:* This is very tentative, but if you’d be interested in
watching Hackers or Lawnmower Man or something, message your interest and
availability in April. Would you rather it be on a weeknight or a weekend?
3.
*A Sudo Mesh meeting* (!): I'm trying to organize this on *a Wednesday
night or Sunday in late March*. If you want to participate, message me
or join the mesh listserv here
<https://sudoroom.org/lists/postorius/lists/mesh.sudoroom.org/>!
Thoughts? Complaints? Animal videos? Share 'em below!

Who is available to help us apply for grants from StopWaste? Apparently they
are very likely to give Sudoroom tons of money since we keep stuff from going
to the landfill by repairing and teaching people how to repair and recycle.

I’m heading for an art show in Los Angeles that I’m to - it’s cool! But they were asking me what places we could show art up here and … duh! The Omni is the perfect place for a gallery !
Ok so let’s do more art stuff !

Hey guys the dopest volunteer Harvin just installed a flat screen in the
entrance hall! I’m trying to have it display omni commons live calendar so
people know what events are happening and when! Does anyone have advice how
to go about that?
