Tonight we had a special edition of the Sudoroom weekly meeting,
focused on upgrading to a new, bigger space, outreach to future
members, and fundraising to enable this. We decided on a SUDO REBOOT
with 3 components:
1) Cleanup Weekend March 22 & 23
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves event for major cleaning, gutting,
e-wasting & inventory.
2) Reboot Weekend one month from now, April 4th, 5th & 6th
This is a fun party with raffle, donations, and unconference for new &
old community members to talk more in-depth about what we want from
our future Sudo.
3) Hard work
This starts right now. We create lasting campaign materials, write a
lot of emails, and make a lot of phone calls. We are going to have
regular planning meetings on an aggressive schedule, TBA.

Yay! I love it. And I have two different friends visiting from out of town,
both weekends, who will likely be into it. Here's to bold steps toward the

Other details we discussed at the meeting for the clean-up weekend:
* Food and drinks to keep the people filled with deliciousness
* Vehicles to transport the recyclables to their respective destinations
* Help with sorting, inventory, and our labelling system
* Design for the reboot flyer
It's going to be between 12-6pm on Saturday (22nd) and Sunday (23rd).

I don't usually go to your meetings but I do have some pieces of advice.
Noisebridge used to be in a significantly smaller space. It was easier
for the community to police itself. You may want to take that into account
with the new space's size. There are other things you should consider like
money and perhaps come up with some longer term goals, like possibly just
buying a space and where you want to be in a year, two years and 5 years.
It might be great for the short term to move, but bad for the long term.
Just my .02 cents.

Re: cleanup weekend.
Just a reminder that George is throwing another rave on Sat 3/22 in the
common area. As with before, this means the common area will get trashed.
So just re: the common area, I'm not sure it makes sense spending any time
cleaning it Sat 3/22. And on Sun 3/23, you/we will be cleaning up after an
all-night rave. Y'all might ask george if he is getting a janitorial crew
in on 3/23, as he really should. And focus solely on cleaning sudo's space..

That's amazing! Oakland Wiki has a page about recycling in the area and
we can use that to direct the bins of materials we're sending out. If
anybody knows of any other options, it would be nice if you could add
them. There's a St. Vincent de Paul a few blocks away and that will
probably be the best option, but they probably won't take everything
(wires and components).
