sudo roomers,
I propose a healing theme to this evening's cleaning of natural decay
the czech new wave film daisies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisies_(film)http://youtu.be/zm9Gh8Fpy0c
let us now come together after the east bay sound meetup and forgive each
other and cleanse each other of the sins of judgement, miscommunication,
irritations, and misunderstandings to clean the buildup of natural decay
food fight optional!
peace love and happiness,

A friend of mine who sews semi-professionally mentioned that an
exceptionally beefy sewing machine is available at the estate sale place by
Jack London / 4th near Broadway (this one:
http://www.somethingtosellabout.com/home.html) for $175 as of a few days
ago.
She'd split the cost with a few of us if we could put it in sudo room and
make it available. I'd also split the cost with 3-4+ people.
I won't be able to go down to see if it's still there, gather more detailed
info, and plan transportation to sudo room if appropriate until Saturday at
the earliest.
With or without me, and asap, would anyone like to get involved as a
co-investor, detective, or sewing machine transport specialist?

one thing i learned from sitting in the biohacking group was that
(biohacking) patrick established a rule that they would have a "working"
meeting, not a socializing meeting, with more emphasis on managing time
wisely and getting things done.
i thought that was a cool approach.
i personally like talking a lot at meetings, socializing but i realize my
extroverted style isn't respectful of other styles
perhaps we could experiment, do some "working" get things done quickly
meetings with a minimum on longer speeches?
we had some people who took the opportunity to make a few things out of
clay during our meeting!

i think they liked it :)
Hi All,
There has been a lot of talking about working and general meetings and how
we can have fun and get down to business (have our cake and eat it too) at
the Sudo Meetings. I would like to propose that we tackle this by simply
splitting the meeting up in to two time blocks with different purposes.
I wont be able to make it to the next few meetings, which is why I
haven't proposed this sooner. But if anyone who is facilitating thinks this
is a good idea and wants to follow it go ahead!
Here's the proposal:
6:00 - 7:30 : Community Potluck + General Meeting (Introductions, Updates,
and Announcements)
7:30 - 9:00 : Working Meeting (Proposals, Conflict Resolutions,
Overflow Discussions)
Thoughts?

I was thinking that it might be useful to have some of the Sudo Room projects have their own office. So all the documents, mailing list archives, and sections of the wiki relevant to that group can be made easily accessible. It could also be used to join in people remotely for the weekly meetings. Each room could have information that could be made available at different layers of permission according to role - so someone can come into a meeting that is a public meeting, but can't mess around with the etherpad or other trolling behavior.

Hi Sudo folk.
As we're on the subject of expanding space, I wanted to let everyone know that I've negotiated 3 months free rent for an entire floor at MyaaWorld (http://www.myaa.com/myaa-world). I need some help re-configuring it to look just like our 'real life' space. I met with one of the principals today and they'd be very eager for Sudo Room to really make use of the floor. It seemed to me like they'd be willing to offer us a great long-term deal, if people were into bartering their skills and services.

The Sococo platform it's on, by the way, just released their iPhone app yesterday. So I'll be in the office all day - let me know if you want to schedule something.

Who is this rule for? Do you appreciate the actual problem? He
literally has a habit of going up to people using the bathroom and
yelling at them through the door.
I don't want SR to move either.
