Hi Bay Area wikifolk!
Please join us for a "Wikipedia Barn Raising" event focusing on Open
Educational Resources (OER). The Barn Raising will happen on Saturday July
19th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, at the Oakland Impact Hub, at
2323 Broadway (near the 19th St. BART station). Lunch and refreshments will
be provided.
Since 2012, we've been working to strengthen Wikipedia's coverage of OER
and related topics. We've worked to build an international community around
this goal at conferences, through our online "Writing Wikipedia Articles"
(WIKISOO) course, and through the formation of WikiProject Open.
At the Barn Raising, we will focus on improving high-priority Wikipedia
articles, and consider ways to strengthen WikiProject Open as a resource
for staying connected, learning, and working together. We'll also welcome
online participants from around the world, with collaboration tools and
scheduled video check-ins.

I am naive and ignorant, but this solution seems too cool to not give
serious thought. :)

Don't forget FNB, who is going to be building that fridge. Probably
every group should be there.

We are each others' neighbors, just as much as the landlords and the
people in the house next door.
We're not in competition. Each of us is providing a resource to the
others. For instance, I'd like to think of this less like "Sudo is
paying for this space so it's ours and you can't have it" and more
like "this space makes the most sense for our neighborhood's
hackerspace and so we're taking responsibility for building and
maintaining our neighborhood's hackerspace."
And the best way to know what we all need is to have open, functioning
channels of communication with each other. :)

Hi wikipeople,
I will probably hang out at the Omni in the morning and start at about
12:45 westward. I will pick up a friend in Alameda so everything on
roughly that way is fine a pickup location and I have 3 cozy seats on
first come first serve basis.
https://sudoroom.org/wiki/O:40
Please extend a huge thankyou to Jake who started to work on the door in
the afternoon before he ever entered the new sudoroom hours later and
worked till midnight. And to Marc who enabled the Software side. And off
course all the other people who helped to make it possible that after
the second full Day in the Space we already have automated Access!
Please feel free to expand and correct the wiki page and to write an
email to the Omni list.

Agreed. I can't quite tell whether an exhaust system already exists,
but we need to figure one out ASAP. It gets very hot, and I fear
before long it will get smelly...

There are two shelves in the western corner, which are marked: "ALL
OTHER BOOKS but the books on these shelves are available". The
landlords are going to take those in a few days. All others are,
indeed, abandoned.
Tonight we designated the basement's "library/office" rooms as the
place where all books go, and moved all the books we could find there
(except those marked for BAPS).
> Where to put the pews and bookshelves currently residing in the cafe /

We tried setting up one of those bookshelves in the basement. They are
slightly too tall. Perhaps they might fit after we remove those
ceiling panels.
I still think the pews would be great up on the mezzanine.
