KopimismSect revival - Possible gitmerge with public school poetry group to create SudoRoom Chants

These will most likely be published in small handbooks jack chiclet style and recited aloud at meetings with members holding hands and looking upwards with solemn facial expressions I will speak to the public school poetry class about potential ideas for the creation of SudoRoom Kopimistic ritual chants and prayers. Friday Filosophy, April 12: Crowdfunding!?!

Running late - Filo speciality may not be part of today's session. Hopefully the Athenian Deli will be open (an uncertain assertion). I propose we discuss Crowdfunding, as part of the effort to stimulate our exploration of these sorts of sources of revenue. The discussion will be continued on the Sudo-Crowd mailing list (sudo-crowd(a)lists.sudoroom.org) The following blurb is also for the TechLiminal Lunch Box next Wed., Apr. 17. Please contact Evan Savage through Tech Liminal for more about that. Crowdfunding. What does it mean and how does it work? Why is it the biggest buzz word since social media? Will it really circumvent the flow of investment capital to bypass Wall Street? Can it stimulate new jobs in the small business enterprise and contractors markets? Is there anything more to this than passing around a hat for donations amongst your friends and family in order to do a project you and they know will never be completed? What is the Securities Exchange Commission worries about that is delaying their implementation of the Crowdfunding provisions of the JOBS Act, which was supposed to go into effect in January? We will address these questions, more or less. We will at the very least read all of them out loud at the beginning. Mr. Juul and myself will be bottling next Wednesday after our meeting, and want to invite the curious beer connoisseur in all of you to come and bottle your very own special Subiir. It works like this: * Bring one/more bottles fit for bottling (beer/soda bottles all work, as long as non twist-top) - we encourage you to find a special one, and maybe even DECORATE IT! WOW! * We will help you clean it and bottle it. (Optional: * you might think, "nice", and donate for the next brew) * Patience becomes your BEST FRIEND! Sudo Square

Hi all - I wanted to ask a flash-mob like favor from folks coming to Sudo Room this evening. Over the summer, several of us created the Sudo Square page at Foursquare (https://foursquare.com/v/sudo-square/50074796e4b092cb5fe8c83d) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sudo-Square/351059718301717) as part of a plan to name the plaza at the intersection of Broadway, 19th, & Franklin. Can you please check-in on your way in? It's a lovely day and the Punchdown (http://www.punchdownwine.com/) already put out the outdoor table seating. I'll be hanging out there until the meeting and will remind Sudo folk I see. Given the democratization of nomenclature afforded by geo-located mobile computing, I thought it most appropriate to have some kind of coordinated crowd in-checking initiative. There are some pictures, but it's a placeholder so far. So far as we know (& the Oakland Wiki folks could correct us), the square does not yet have a name. So not just today - but anytime - when you're passing by 22nd & Broadway and you're itching to check in on Facebook or Foursquare, or Yelp, or however it is you go about telling the world instantaneously where you are - please check in at Sudo Square - often and tell your friends about it too. I am also now trying to compile a list of the existing sites & services use for geo-located check-in fun - so let me know if you know of others.
