Hello 6 year old thread!
I believe that the idea of a sudo room "Men confronting Patriarchy" group
never took off, but I think there is a way to move forward now. In the last
year I have been part of another local group "STAND
<http://standbayarea.com/>" which I really believe in. STAND is a group of
people who benefit from white, male privilege in the Bay Area engaging in
movements for racial, gender, and economic justice. Here are the details of
an upcoming workshop of theirs which I hope some sudo members can make:
*Title*Challenging White Male Supremacy Workshop
*Date and Time*
Sun, January 26, 2020
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM PST
*Location*
Sierra Club
#1300
2101 Webster Street
Oakland, CA 94612
*Cost*
Free
*Eventbrite link*
*Description*
Are you (or do you know) someone who benefits from white male privilege and
is willing to contribute to racial, gender, and economic justice? Yes?
Great! There’s room for you. We need you. But what can you do, and how?
Join us for an afternoon to explore how we can show up with integrity,
imagination, and our whole selves. Is there one answer, one path?
Definitely (and thankfully) not! We’re not going to judge or tell you what
to do. Instead, we’ll learn how we’ve gotten to the moment we’re in, and
discuss ways you can leverage your position as a white man to help create a
world that’s more equitable and less oppressive.
Make a great day,
Max Klein ‽
has there been any development on the sudo men's
group meetings? i'm quite
interested in participating, but was hoping to learn more about the
direction you guys are taking.
relatedly, i was at the RightsCon discussion today about "Ending Violence
Against Women Online: No One's Liability, Everyone's Responsibility". very
intriguing to learn about how there are two tracks being pushed by the
leaders in this space internationally - one focused on gender neutral safe
space concepts and one focused on gender inclusivity in current online
platforms. i think with matt & max's leadership, there's a great deal that
sudo men can contribute to these important developments.

Hi folks,
I don't have the time to make it out to Oakland much, nor the
bandwidth for another group. Thanks for thinking of me, and good luck!
