Does anyone know a good way to salvage from 101-105 mx brown keyboard
switches?
I'm planning on building my own keyboard this fall or winter and have
plenty of time to source scrap.

New subject: OK to borrow 3d printer for a few days?
Working on an LED baby toy for my daughter, getting a bit more
complicated than I thought and not easy to go back and forth between
sudo and home. Anyone have imminent prints to do on the TAZ? Would
bring back this weekend at the latest.

New subject: OK to borrow 3d printer for a few days?
Trying here - noticed after I set it up at home that bead does not heat.
No voltage on the terminals inside the controller either, is there a
setting that can be changed via USB but not via the lcd screen menu? I
always just print from SD, noticed the temperature settings were off to
vs. last time I used it so will try this route. Nozzle is heating up
just fine so assuming power is nominal and it's a software issue.

Bed heat is controlled by gcode. Make sure your slicer is set for it.

It is, have been using a modified version of mfgr's ABS print settings
in slic3r as always and it shows up as the target temp on the lcd screen
of the printer, just no voltage at the terminal for the heating element.
Installing latest version of Cura now to rule out gcode issues.

a hotplate covered with clean sand heated up to 400 degrees (celsius) will
be a surface on which you can place a circuitboard covered with such
switches, and then you can pluck them out of the board as their solder
melts. This is how old boards had their parts salvaged from them back
when people still did that.
if you don't have the right hotplate and you want to use a skillet
instead, you'll likely have to cut the circuitboard in half or thirds so
that it will be small enough to fit in the skillet of sand. no big deal.
you could also remove them one at a time, using a desoldering tool.
There's a motorized one at sudoroom, which is basically a gun-shaped
soldering iron with a hollow tip and a foot-pedal activated vacuum pump.
You could use that to pull the solder out of the hole for one of the two
pins of each key, and then use a regular soldering iron to heat up the
second one while pulling the key out with the other hand.
