In my recent visits to sudoroom, I've talked about and demonstrated FPGAs
(among other things). I personally consider FPGAs to be an enabling
technology, like microcontrollers but with some key advantages.
They also have a reputation of being hard to learn.
There seems to be at least some interest in turning these chaotic discussions
into activities thoughtfully set up for teaching/learning. Maybe the
word "class" won't apply.
I'll keep this first message short, although I certainly have ideas,
at least about how to get started. I'm a huge believer in learning by doing.
I plan to be at sudoroom tonight (Dec 30), and we can have in-person discussions.
Maybe this thread can capture ideas in a less ephemeral form.

capability.

I can't remember how I ended up involved with MediaJustice and Mijente, but
I got an email about it from their newsletter. I've never been to this
event before, but I have attended a different conference on media and
social justice called Allied Media Conference put on by the Allied Media
PRoject in Detroit; they're not doing it anymore but it was amazing.
Hello, a couple of years ago the sudo room was kind enough to provide me
with a Linux laptop for me to use in my activism on behalf of the Wood
Street Commons. After much productive use the laptop is on its last legs
and also never had a battery and has suffered from the many power outages
we have in our situation. I was wondering if there is another Linux laptop
that I could use to continue my advocacy and legal work on behalf of the
Wood Street Commons.
